Description

This was shot with MayanFamilies on their Elderly Care Program in San Jorge, Guatemala. These are the hands of Filipa Simion Palux. When we arrived Filipa was in a bad state she suffers from really bad pain from her arthritic. Her hands are a reflection of life suppressed by the Guatemalan Civil War. Entire villages were massacred and the widespread use of forced disappearances led tragically to the Guatemalan genocide
